The Dominican Republic Air Force (FARD) began flight testing of its fifth TP-75 Dulus training and patrol aircraft, after rolling off the assembly line at San Isidro Air Base.
As reported by Infodefensa.com, the Dominican Air Force acquired ten aircraft of this model from the Italian aeronautical company Flying Legend in 2022 to be assembled at its Maintenance Service facilities. The prototype, in FARD colors, was presented in February 2023, and the first two units were delivered the following December.
The TP-75 Dulus
The TP-75 Dulus is the training and patrol version of the Tucano Replica 915IS aircraft, developed by the Italian aeronautical company Flying Legend for the Dominican Republic Air Force. As its original name indicates, it is a 70%-size replica of the Embraer EMB-312 Tucano. The TP-150, as the Dulus is known by its manufacturer, is a compact aircraft of metal (aluminum) construction, with retractable landing gear, tandem seating for two crew members, state-of-the-art avionics, and a turbocharged Rotax 915 iS engine with a four-blade propeller.
It has a range of 600 nautical miles and a flight endurance of 5 hours and 30 minutes; an operational ceiling of 21,000 feet; a cruising speed of 287.06 kilometers per hour (177.66 mph), and a maximum speed of 329.66 kilometers per hour (200.00 mph). It can be equipped with weapons and surveillance equipment, among other equipment.
